Medical coding refers to the conversion of medical diagnoses, practises, supplies, and equipment into standard medical alphanumeric numbers. Simply said, this refers to the process of converting crucial medical data into understandable codes in order to maintain medical records and facilitate proper medical invoicing.

      In today's healthcare settings, the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) and the Current Procedural Terminology are the two main forms of medical codes (CPT). Although there are differences between these classification systems, they all serve the same function, which is to provide consistent documentation between medical facilities. Having this uniform system makes it possible for medical records to be transferred more easily, for billing to be simplified, and for research and analysis to track health trends to be conducted more quickly.

ICD-10 Code 163.9: Cerebral Infarction:- A cerebral infarction, also known as an ischemic stroke, happens when there is a disruption in the blood supply to the brain as a result of issues with the blood arteries that supply it. Brain cells that don't receive enough blood are deprived of oxygen and other nutrients, which can lead to some sections of the brain dying off. Atherosclerosis, which results in the formation of a fatty plaque in the blood vessel known as an atheroma, is what reduces the blood flow to the brain. This fatty buildup may result in a blood clot, known as an embolism, in an artery that supplies the brain or in another area of the body.
