ICD-10 Code K 13.0- Diseases of Lips:- Cheilitis describes changes to the lips that are inflamed, allergic, irritated, or malignant. Patients who experience inflammatory, allergic, or irritating processes describe their lips as being eroded or dry and cracked, with or without swelling, and possibly with discomfort or itching. Physical examination may reveal anything from mild edoema to total absence of the typical lip marks. Exfoliation, dry scaling, and fissuring may develop with advanced inflammation. On the other hand, neoplastic processes of the lips can be asymptomatic and manifest as minor colour changes, infiltration, nodules, or ulcers. The presence of hypertrophy or swelling in benign developmental variations of the lips raises additional concerns.If anomalies are discovered early, the majority of lip problems, including premalignant alterations, are manageable; nonetheless, advanced disease.
